Park Commission discusses Town Park progress, field hockey quotes at Draper
Park Commission · Meeting of May 13, 2026
Hopedale Park Commission heard Town Park construction progress and two competing quotes for a field hockey facility at Draper Field but took no formal action. Project coordinator Sally DeCelles reported drainage systems complete, well-drilling underway, and playground installation begun, with tennis courts to be poured by late July and full completion by end of August. For Draper Field, the board received a $38,000 laser-grading bid and a $118,000 complete-installation quote from North Turf; Town Planner Mitch Ruscitti confirmed the higher quote would trigger mandatory public bidding, though only a two-week delay if posted immediately.
Athletic Director Stephanie Ridolfi prioritized field hockey and urged rapid facility delivery to avoid extended closures. The board will reconvene May 21 with quotes and alternative plans.
