Park Commission approves hiring four summer employees as construction continues at Town Park.
Park Commission · Meeting of April 16, 2026
Hopedale Park Commission approves four summer hires and pivots athletic field strategy. Chair Mike Costanza, alongside members Jay MacDonald and Mark Wyspianski, voted unanimously to hire three Summer Program employees and one worker to support Steve Bosma, as athletic facilities remain compromised by the Draper Field construction setback. Athletic Director Stephanie Ridolfi confirmed the field will not be ready for spring play and warned against accelerating the project; the board has spent approximately $93,000 at Draper and retains $107,000 from a GFI contribution.
Costanza announced biweekly meetings beginning April 30 to develop a comprehensive facilities plan and declined to pursue high-cost bids for Lot A, pivoting instead to explore limited little league field construction in partnership with the Highway Department.
