Hopedale Park Commission approves events and addresses youth sports field access. The board unanimously approved usage requests from Gail Brown for Day in the Park and a Summer Band Concert Series at the new Town Park and triangle land, contingent on project completion by fall 2026. Chair Mike Costanza and Commissioner Jay MacDonald navigated a contentious scheduling conflict between Hopedale Youth Baseball and Hopedale Youth Softball over Phillips Field during an interim period, projecting three new field sites will be operational from fall 2026 through spring 2027 pending Select Board approval of construction bids ranging from $300,000 to $1.9 million.
The commission will request Town Administrator Mitch attend the next meeting to discuss funding and project timelines.
