Bancroft Memorial Library _ Board of Trustees · Meeting of May 5, 2026

Hopedale Library Trustees unanimously approved state aid funding for a new fire radio box installation ahead of the Hopedale Fire Department's FY27 transition from its current emergency notification system. Chair Christine Seaver and the board also advanced facility repairs including front door and window trim painting, assessment of the Statue of Hope for mortar and crack work (aided by a $10,000 anonymous donation), and repair of an original red leather Joseph Bancroft chair. Library Director Keely Bethel-Penny reported April visits and item checkouts both increased, with Overdrive electronic checkouts up 22 percent year-over-year.
