HOPEDALE — The Hopedale Council on Aging approved April minutes and addressed a significant budget discrepancy for fiscal 2027. Director Claire Hill reported that the town meeting materials presented a budget of $130,425, which differed from both her preliminary December submission of $130,925 and her final March proposal of $131,959. Board members confirmed Hill had acted appropriately in flagging the discrepancy at town meeting, and she will follow up with the Finance Committee and town administrator to resolve the matter.
The board also discussed summer programming expansions, including a luau and pizza party in June and twice-weekly tai chi classes in July, and tabled a proposal to adjust senior center hours pending staff consultation.
