HOPEDALE — Bancroft Memorial Library Board approves FY27 budget with staff expansion. The Board of Trustees unanimously accepted the FY27 budget, which includes a 9 percent increase driven by reclassifying one position from Library Page to Library Assistant and funding a new Page position for eight additional weekly support hours. Director Keely Bethel-Penny reported May circulation rose 10 percent year-over-year, with electronic checkouts through Overdrive climbing 29 percent.
The Board awarded the Statue of Hope conservation project to Daedalus Conservation, with work scheduled for late July, and learned that the Fire Department's monitoring system will transition to radio boxes on a rolling basis in FY27.
